Wrought Iron Door Handles
Iron first moved into factories in the mid 18th century as a technique was discovered called wrought iron casting. This type of casting was a process that produced malleable iron castings by melting the wrought iron. Adding a very small amount of aluminum in order to lower the melting point of the molten metal and maintaining it at a boiling point. The special mixture is then poured into pre-made mold that was lined with molasses and ground burnt fire clay. This made wrought iron goods available for a much faster rate of production in a controlled environment. With the use of molds, very stylized product could be made in many different ways and designs. This process has been even more perfected with more modern equipment, and the demand for wrought iron products became more and more demanding. More on Wrought Iron Door Handles

Wrought Iron Candle Sconces
I have always had a weakness for wrought iron candle sconces. I think it has to do with what I watched as a kid. I used to always love anything having to do with the middle ages. I have probably seen countless scenes in my life involving people walking down long hallways decorated with flaming torches or wrought iron while sconces. Of course, the flaming torch is preferable because it has more fire and you can hold it, but I knew that I would never be able to talk my parents into letting me have one. A wrought iron candle holder was the next best thing, and I would daydream about it a surprising amount when I was a kid. More on Wrought Iron Candle Sconces
